All cities with electrical work cost data

Electrical work pricing moves with three slow forces — panel amperage demand (200A is the new floor; 100A is a grandfathered nightmare on many older homes), EV-charging circuit density, and the rolling 2020/2023 NEC adoption of AFCI/GFCI on previously-exempt circuits. A panel upgrade in a 1960s San Diego tract sits around 70% of the same job in a 1920s Boston three-decker because the meter location, service-drop length, and inspection backlog are categorically different. Code-adoption lag also matters: counties still on 2017 NEC don't yet require dual-function AFCI/GFCI breakers on bedroom outlets, which knocks $30–50 per circuit off the bill. Per-city pages list the local utility, dominant panel size in the housing stock, NEC code year in force, and inspection lead-time you can plan against.
